We connect Massachusetts homeowners with licensed local chimney companys. We do not carry out the work ourselves.

What we actually do

Tell us what is happening and we put you in touch with a chimney company covering your area in Massachusetts. They contact you to discuss it and arrange a visit. What they charge to attend or diagnose is theirs to set, so agree it with them before they come out.

There is no obligation attached to any of it, and nothing to pay us at any point. Ask for the diagnosis in writing before you authorize work, and for repair and replacement to be quoted side by side where a system is near the end of its life. Both are reasonable requests that any established firm will meet.

How we are paid

Contractors pay us for the introduction. You never do. That arrangement is worth stating plainly because it shapes what this site is: we are paid when a homeowner and a contractor start talking, not when work is sold, so there is nothing here pushing you toward a replacement you do not need.

It also means we are not neutral about everything. We are a commercial service, not a consumer advice charity, and the guidance on this site should be read alongside a second opinion on anything expensive.

Why certification is worth checking in Massachusetts

Massachusetts does not license chimney sweeps at state level, which surprises people. What there is to check instead is CSIA certification — the Chimney Safety Institute of America runs the recognized credential and publishes a free directory — along with current liability insurance and, where structural masonry work is involved, a Construction Supervisor License held by whoever is doing it. Historic districts on the Cape, the islands and in the older towns add their own approval requirements for anything visible, so ask who is responsible for obtaining that before work starts.
